Our Name:
Several years ago, a kitten wandered into the store that was located where we are now.
She was adopted by the storeowner and quickly became a favorite of the customers. Being a kitten, she was loveable, playful and sometimes mischievous. Laying in wait for the next customer to walk by, this tiny ball of fur loved to ‘pounce' on a foot as it passed. Her name quickly became apparent: Mischief .
As she grew older and mellowed (does a cat ever really mellow?), she affectionately became known as Missy. After all, she was a lady now but still full of Mischief.
Having lived all of her life at the store, we adopted Missy and she, us.
By now, you probably have figured out that Missy is a Calico.
(Drum roll please) Welcome to Calico Art Glass.
Being the lady she is, Missy doesn't pounce much any more but she does love to rub up against purses that a customer may set down on a counter. If it happens to be open….all the better. She loves to poke her head inside to see what treasures this human may have.
Customers come in and ask for her. She has become a celebrity.
Like all celebrities, she has her own product line. We call it Mischief's Mosaics.
So, when you come in, ask for Missy and have her show you Mischief's Mosaic Kits.
Our Mission Statement
1. To introduce the art of making stained glass windows, panels and treasures such as candleholders, stepping stones, beads, etc. You're only limited by your imagination.
Throughout the year, classes will be taught on both Introductory and Intermediate levels so you may learn foiling, leading, and hot glass work: such as bead making, fusing and glass blowing.
2. To supply stained glass enthusiasts with a wide array of glass, tools and supplies at affordable prices.
3. To add beauty to homes and businesses by providing custom-made stained glass windows, panels and treasures.
4. To have fun through sharing our love for the art of glass.
From an article in the Ventura County Star (Family
Life Supplement-2005)
With more than 30 years of combined experience in the colorful

glass hobbyist, bead-makers, mosaic artists and fusing enthusiasts.
Additionally, gift items, made in their studio, are available.
Several classes are offered at Calico Art Glass: Stained

the year and are designed for the beginner. Intermediate classes

Both John and Ken love what they do as evidenced by their
friendly and relaxed manner. They gladly offer advice and
suggestions. Nothing pleases John and Ken more than when one
of their students becomes a glass artist and turns their hobby
into a profitable sideline.
