About Us

Calico Art Glass opened in February 2004.

Owner, John Tarca, has more than 30 years of experience designing and fabricating stained glass windows and panels as well as repairing the old and broken.

In addition to designing and building custom stained glass windows, we conduct classes, sell glass, tools and supplies for the stained glass hobbyist, bead-makers, mosaic artists and fusing enthusiasts.  Additionally, gift items, made in our studio, are available.

Several classes are offered at Calico Art Glass: Stained Glass (Tiffany-style and leaded methods), Bead-Making and Fusing. Classes are on-going throughout the year and are designed for the beginner.  Intermediate classes are also available.

During the year, specialty and seasonal classes are scheduled.  Please refer to our Classes page for a list of these classes.

We love what we do at Calico Art Glass.   We gladly offer advice and suggestions to help the hobbyist.  Nothing pleases us more than when one of our students becomes a glass artist and turns their hobby into a profitable sideline.

Our Goals
1. To introduce the art of making stained glass windows, panels and 'treasures' such as candleholders, wind chimes, beads, etc. (You're only limited by your imagination.)  Throughout the year, classes will be taught in both the copper foil and leaded methods of stained glass and hot glass work: such as bead making and fusing.

2. To supply stained glass enthusiasts with a wide array of glass, tools and supplies at affordable prices.

3. To add beauty to homes and businesses by providing custom-made stained glass windows and panels.

4. To have fun through sharing our love for the art of glass.
